Public Works
The leaf season is now upon us and we still need our residents’ cooperation to maintain a quick and clean process of removing the leaves. With 50% of our leaf vacs broke down since last Friday and the recent super storm causing havoc it remains a challenge to pick up the leaves before they are blown away. We are still attempting to remove all leaves before or on the day of garbage pickup. We are working 9hrs a day and 6 days a week to try and catch up…We will continue for approx two more weeks…..

Police Department
Secure record of your valuables. "The Report IT" is awesome because it allows citizens to create an account for free and keep track of all your valuable property. You can upload photos of your items and receipts, input serial numbers and distinctive markings that are on your property. This tool is valuable because in the event of a loss for the citizen, you can log onto our secure site and print out the information on the item stolen and give that to your insurance provider or your local law enforcement. Visit reportit.leadsonline.com for more information.

Veteran’s Day
November 12th, City Hall will be closed in observance of Veteran’s Day. Please keep in mind that there will be no special pickups scheduled for that week. Also, your garbage will be pushed back a day as well.

Thanksgiving
City Hall will be closed November 22nd – 23rd. Garbage pickup for THURSDAY residents ONLY will be picked up on Saturday November 24th.

Election
Don’t forget to vote, Election Day is Tuesday November 6th.

Council Meeting
Council meetings are held the first and third Thursday of the month at 6pm.

Fire Department
We have approximately 240 Smoke Alarms for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing left. With them having a 10 year battery life and closing in on 2 years of life already we would like to get these in the hands of those who need them. Anyone in our community that is in need of this special smoke alarm please contact the Fire Dept. for an application. Each recipient must fill out an application to make sure they meet the grant guideline/qualifications. Children under the age of 18 do not qualify for these alarms and there is an annual income requirement that must be met. If you have someone in your community that qualifies for one of these alarms you must be willing to go out and install it. For more information or would like to apply please contact Pam Bright at 1-317-232-6632 or visit www.in.gov/dhs .

Public Works City Dumpsters
Coming soon, keep an eye out on your utility bill for your free pass to use the City dumpster. Remember you must have your receipt to use the City dumpsters. Keep an eye out and read upcoming newsletter for more information.
